Irrigation Installation in Las Vegas

Residential Irrigation Designed Around Your Desert Landscape

Las Vegas draws roughly 90 percent of its water from the Colorado River, and summer temperatures that regularly top 110 degrees mean evaporation works against you every day. A system that isn’t sized and scheduled for those conditions wastes water and still leaves plants struggling. Sierra Landscape is a locally owned landscape design and construction firm serving Las Vegas, Summerlin, and surrounding Southern Nevada communities. We install irrigation as part of a complete landscape build, not as a standalone add-on, and we’re licensed and insured for residential work.

Irrigation Built Into the Design, Not Bolted On After

Most irrigation contractors size a system around a generic layout. We plan yours alongside your hardscape, plant selection, and yard structure from day one. Zones are matched to actual plant loads, coverage gaps are caught before concrete goes down, and you don’t end up retrofitting pipes around a patio that went in first. Kevin manages projects personally and stays in communication throughout, something our clients consistently mention when they describe working with us.

Every irrigation plan we develop reflects our knowledge of the Las Vegas desert climate: how high evaporation rates affect scheduling, what water conservation requirements apply in Southern Nevada, and how to design a system that can perform through the summer rather than just survive it. For homeowners who want to spread the cost, financing is available through HFS Financial.

Types of Irrigation Systems We Install

Most Las Vegas residential yards call for more than one system type. Here’s how we approach each:

Drip Irrigation
Drip systems deliver water directly to the root zone of desert-adapted plants at low flow rates, limiting evaporation and surface runoff. This is the right approach for xeriscape plantings, garden beds, and any area planted with low-water desert species. We design drip systems with pressure regulators, filters, and emitters sized appropriately for each planting zone.

Sprinkler Systems
Turf and lawn areas need broader water distribution, which is where sprinkler systems come in. Because turf and desert plants have different watering needs and schedules, we keep them on separate zones. Running them together is one of the most common sources of water waste and plant stress we see in existing installations.

Smart Irrigation Controllers
Smart controllers automatically adjust watering schedules based on weather data and estimated plant demand, reducing water use compared to a fixed-timer setup. We integrate smart controllers into new installations as part of the overall system design.

SNWA Rebates for Las Vegas Homeowners

The Southern Nevada Water Authority (SNWA) offers a Water Smart Landscape rebate that pays single-family homeowners $5 per square foot of grass replaced with desert landscaping, up to the first 10,000 square feet converted. Las Vegas Valley Water District customers may qualify for an additional $2 per square foot on top of that. SNWA also offers a Smart Clock rebate for homeowners who upgrade to a qualifying smart irrigation controller.

To qualify for the grass-replacement rebate, the converted area must include a drip irrigation system and achieve at least 50 percent plant coverage. Homeowners have 12 months from their pre-conversion inspection to complete the project. Because Sierra Landscape designs irrigation and planting together, we can help you plan a conversion with rebate requirements in mind. Frequently Asked Questions

  • How much do I water my new landscape?

Our team will set up your timer for the appropriate time while working on your landscape project. Typically for a 15-30 day watering period. This may vary during the seasons and will require you to make future adjustments as temperatures change or weather events occur. We recommend following SNWA water guidelines after your new plants and trees are established.

  • Is your artificial turf save for kids and pets?
Yes absolutely! We only use certified lead free artificial grass that is manufactured without PFAS in the raw ingredients. We only use an acrylic-coated, round sand infused with Microban technology that is used as synthetic turf infill. No silica sand.
  • Are pavers better than concrete?
While both pavers and concrete have comparable maintenance costs, pavers outperform concrete in durability and ease of repair. They’re easier to clean, repairs are less noticeable, and proper care ensures they maintain their look and function for decades longer than concrete. Concrete may seem easier initially, but over time, cracks, stains, and costly replacements make it less appealing compared to the long-term benefits of pavers.
  • Does Sierra Landscape offer weekly or monthly maintenance?
Unfortunately not at this time. Our team specializes in creating beautiful landscape customized for each client.
